SANDOVAL LAKE LODGE

DAY 1 / PUERTO MALDONADO

Transfer from the Puerto Maldonado airport to the dock located in the Madre de Dios river. During the way we will do a short visit to the city. After a 20 minutes trip through Madre de Dios river we arrive to a path by which we star a 25 to 30 minutes walk. Then we get to a little channel where we get into a canoe which drive us alter some minutes to Sandoval lake, the view is amazing and very beautiful. Over there a catamarán will be boarded to take us to Sandoval Lake Lodge. After lunch and a brief rest, we will board again the catamaran to visit west lake´s side. In the afternoon the guacamayos arrive to this zone to spent the night or to stay in their nests.. Return to the lodging to have dinner. Through the night we will board de canoes to search and admire the black cayman. If there's moon and the sky is clear, it is possible to navigate on the lake in a wonderful view.

DAY 2 / TROPICAL FOREST

Very early in the morning, wake up call to visit the lake. Birds can be seen. They go out looking for meal, and with luck some river otters fishing. As it is well known this specie is in extinction danger. The first morning hours are the best to get the best photographs. It is worth to comment that by the noon, birds due to the heat prefer to stay in the shadow and visitors can't see them. Return to the lodging to have breakfast, afterwards, a demonstration of how the natives recolect, open and commercialize brazil nuts, a very important item in local economy. After lunch, resting time and preparation to visit east lake´s' side, Where we Hill match one or more of the 5 monkey species that live in this area detaching the Capuchin. Return to lodging for dinner, if the visitor wants it, a new visit to the lake can be scheduled or a walk through the forest to listenthe night forest sounds.

DAY 3 / PUERTO MALDONADO

After breakfast, departure to Madre de Dios river to board the canoe that Hill transport us to Puerto Maldonado and from then transfer to the airport to borrad the itinerary flight with destination to Lima or Cuzco.
